Getting to Florence

We took a train from Rome to Florence. Train journey was a little longer than I expected. It was fun though – the scenery was absolutely awesome. Of course, I slept through part of the journey leaving my poor wife to keep watch of all the stuff. Luckily for me she managed to stay awake for most of the time. My advise is stay awake – it is totally worth it. We made use of the Europass and sat in first class. We had a whole room to ourselves – so we did not have to worry about leaving the suitcases around.

While we were seated in our compartment, four other men (50ish) came and sat in the compartment nearby. They kept chatting aloud and it felt like they were making lots of comments about the people walking by in the compartment. For some reason I felt like I was in the Asterix comic where those 4 old men in the village sit and comment on everything. If you dont know what I am talking about, go and read the book. I forgot the exact comic.
